About Dr. Janice Halteman, DAOM, L.Ac.
My goal is to help you achieve optimum health and wellness. Through working with my patients I have seen the impressive results that gentle palpation-based acupuncture and Chinese medicine can have. In 2021 I began the study of fascial counterstrain, a painless osteopathic manipulation that seeks to identify and treat areas of inflammation on any tissue or organ in the body and resolve multiple causes of pain and chronic medical conditions. I am grateful to be able to share the benefit of my extensive education with you.
My background includes training not only in acupuncture but in a wide array of Chinese medicine modalities, and most recently in the art of fascial counterstrain. I practice primarily a Japanese form of acupuncture that is very gentle and suitable for even the most sensitive patients, and I offer sessions of combined acupuncture and counterstrain or dedicated sessions of either. As well, I use a technique with small children and babies that does not involve the insertion of needles but is effective in treating many childhood ailments. I hold a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and am licensed by both Oregon and Washington states and recognized by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I am on the clinical faculty of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. My training in fascial counterstrain involves extensive training and is a growing passion. Its subtlety is a beautiful blend with acupuncture and my best treatments are a combination of them both.
Your unique health care situation is of the utmost importance to me. I am happy to answer any questions you may have regarding how acupuncture and Chinese medicine can benefit you. Together we can work toward achieving your health and wellness goals.
